The Qatari newspaper "Al-Raya" published an interview with the Azerbaijani ambassador to Qatar

On April 29, 2020, the Arabic-language newspaper of Qatar Al-Raya published an interview with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the State of Qatar Mr. Rashad Ismayilov. In the interview, Ambassador R. Ismayilov spoke about the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan, noting that it is a month of kindness, compromise, love and worship. The ambassador noted that this year's Ramadan is taking place in different conditions - at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is widespread in the world, emphasizing that the strong mood of this month can play a role in reducing the negative consequences of the pandemic. Ambassador Ismayilov expressed his wish for the eradication of the virus in the near future and praised the steps taken by the relevant authorities of Qatar to combat the pandemic. He also said that comprehensive measures were taken in Azerbaijan to prevent the pandemic. The ambassador stressed that compliance with these restrictive measures, applied within the framework of international conditions and criteria, is important for the health of the population in the current situation, including during the month of Ramadan. Touching upon Azerbaijan-Qatar relations, the ambassador noted that two countries have strong diplomatic ties. He noted that bilateral cooperation covers political, economic, trade, cultural and other spheres, adding that there are broad prospects for the development of relations in the coming period.
