Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan Republic Kamaladdin Heydarov paid a visit to the State of Qatar
At the invitation of The Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, a delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, who is also a co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Qatar Joint Economic, Trade and Technical Intergovernmental Commission, has been on a visit to the State of Qatar from 31 October to 1 November.
During the visit, the delegation attended with the “Milipol Qatar 2016” international exhibition of homeland security, which took place inDoha under the auspices of Emir of the State ofQatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and was joined by 146 delegations from 30 countries.
Mr. Kamaladdin Heydarov met with The Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar Abdullah binNasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, who during the meeting praised the high level of bilateral ties and emphasized the existence of huge potential for the further deepening of the cooperation.
Minister Heydarov stressed that the mutual visits of presidents, as well as the visit of the Qatari Emir toAzerbaijan in March this year gave a special impetus to the further development of relations between the two countries.
The minister gave information about the work of the Azerbaijan-Qatar Joint Economic, Trade and Technical Intergovernmental Commission, as well as spoke about the current cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and relevant Qatari bodies.
As part of his official visit, Minister Heydarov also had a meeting with Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, during which various aspects of relations between the two countries and the work of the joint intergovernmental commission created on the mutual initiatives of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani were discussed.
The sides underlined the importance of efficient organization of the work of the joint commission for the development of business relations between the two countries, the increase of trade turnover and the expansion of investment opportunities. Thus, they determined areas of mutual interest at this stage and considered it expedient to hold the first meeting of the joint commission in the near future.
