Inauguration of Azerbaijan Cultural Corner in Katara
In celebration of art and artists, the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the State of Qatar inaugurated the Azerbaijan Cultural Corner at Building 47 in Katara.
The event was in the presence of HE Elnur Aliyev, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and HE Rashad Ismayilov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Qatar.
His Excellency Elnur Aliyev and HE Ambassador Rashad Ismayilov gave speeches at the ceremony, followed by the official inauguration of the sculpture called “The Brotherhood”.
The sculpture is a tree-shaped bronze sculpture with depiction of one of the eye-catching architectural works of modern Baku - "Heydar Aliyev Center" on its left branch and the gem of Katara Cultural Village "The Katara Amphitheater" on the other. By the ornament of a crescent the sculpture`s trunk indicates the affiliation of both Azerbaijan and Qatar to the same root - Islamic Culture. The round spherical object symbolizes petroleum and gas that are the main natural resources of the two countries.
Before the ceremony, His Excellency HE Elnur Aliyev, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan met with Katara General Manager Prof Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, where they discussed ways to develop relations between the two brotherly countries in the cultural field.
