Delegation of Azerbaijani Parliament attends the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to be held in Doha

On April 6, 2019, the 140th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union started in Doha.  2271 delegates from more than 160 countries attend the event.  Chairmen of parliaments from 80 countries of which Turkey, Iran, Russia and Kazakhstan are represented at the event.

The main topics of discussion of the 140th Assembly are education, gender equality, human rights, combating terrorism, reducing poverty through the provision of renewable energy production, and so on.

The opening ceremony was held on April 6 with the participation of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Delegation of Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Memebers of the Parliament  Kamran Bayramov, Shahin Ismayilov and Sona Aliyeva) and Ambassador Rashad Ismayilov are attending the event.
