Qatar's Al-Sharq newspaper published interview with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the State of Qatar Rashad Ismayilov

Interview of the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the State of Qatar Rashad Ismayilov was published in Qatar's Al-Sharq newspaper which dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and to the relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar.

The interview presented detailed information on the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the achievements gained in the Republic, Azerbaijani-Qatari relations, the main priorities of the bilateral cooperation, the favorable investment climate and the development of tourism in Azerbaijan.

It was mentioned that establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, which founded in 1918, 28 may, and lasted 23 months, was an important phase in the history of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijanis celebrate  28 May as their national day. It was underlined that Azerbaijan regained it’s independence in 1991 and at the present the country lives   development period in all spheres under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev, who successfully pursues the political course of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Speaking about Azerbaijani-Qatari relations, the ambassador said that the reciprocal visits paid by the Heads of the two states during the last two years contributed to the deepening of the bilateral cooperation. Noting that 31 documents were signed between the two countries in various fields, and the intergovernmental joint commission was launched, the Ambassador noted that the development of economic cooperation is a priority in the bilateral relations.

The Ambassador informed on the favorable conditions for foreign investments in our country, adding that necessary economic reforms were carried out and the relevant legislation was improved to protect the rights of the investors.

The interview also featured the tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan. It was noted that Qatar Airways implements 14 flights per week, simplification of visa regime and improving the quality of tourism in our country play an important role in increasing the number of tourists coming to our country from Qatar.
