Al-Sharq and Peninsula newspapers published two articles on the ancient city, "Icheri Sheher"
The two articles provide information about the historical formation of the ancient city. Despite the rapid growth of Baku and changes in its architectural features with the development of the oil industry in the nineteenth century, the old city has preserved its historical identity and architecture. Articles say that Ichiri Shaher was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000 with the Maiden's Tower and Shirvan Shah's Palace.
